Coach Aaron has lived in Lafayette, LA all his life and began training martial arts at 7 years old. He holds black Belt in Taekwondo. Upon starting high school at Lafayette High, he joined the wrestling team and competed for 4 years. After watching Forest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar fight on the Ultimate Fighter 1, he decided that is what he wanted to in the future, to fight in the UFC. At 17 he began training JiuJitsu, Boxing, and MMA. Attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he competed on the Judo team for 2 years. After 10 amateur MMA fights, JiuJitsu tournaments and boxing matches, at the age of 20, Coach Aaron flew to Thailand to train in Muay Thai. After training for 5 weeks and winning his first Muay Thai fight by Knockout, Coach Aaron turned Professional in MMA. Coach Aaron would travel to Thailand 6 times for training, and go 2-0 in Pro Muay Thai. Coach Aaron has gotten to travel all over the world with MMA, including Thailand, Korea, AbuDhabi, and Las Vegas with the Ultimate Fight Championship. Coach Aaron and his wife Charity opened Headkicks Martial Arts on May 09 2016, followed by the birth of their son Hosea on May 24th 2016, and daughter Esther on September 10th 2018.

Coach Kim is Headkicks Member #1. In 2015, she was enrolled in the Self Defense Class that coach Aaron taught at UL. She immediately fell in love with martial arts. Coach Kim was there on the day the 1st the Headkicks Hexagon cage and equipment came in at the original Headkicks. Coach Kim is a helper, and has not stopped since. Her first Love is Muay Thai and Striking, where she has earned her Brown Prajoud over the last 9+ years, she has also trained in the recent several years in JiuJitsu, earning her Blue Belt. She has attended countless MMA events to assist the Fight Team in Coaching, Stretching, Massage Therapy, and support in any way she can! Coach Kim is arguably the best deep tissue massage therapist I've come across in Louisiana, and many fighters and athletes, Coach Aaron included, get massages to loosen up for competition. Coach Kim has been involved in all levels of MMA, and our academy, but most importantly she loves people. She leads our Muay Thai 101 Programs and teaches Kickboxing Foundations classes and she gives the newer students all the attention they need to get their training started off greatly. She also leads the Women's Muay Thai classes on Thursday nights, a group of ladies special to her heart. You'll catch Coach Kim anytime and any day here at Headkicks, she is here as much as she can spreading her positivity! Every martial arts academy needs a Coach Kim, but this one is ours! 💛

Coach Gabe started training with us at Headkicks at just 14 years old. He immediately took a loving to JiuJitsu and grappling. He wrestled at St. Thomas More high school, adding to his grappling skills. Over the years, Gabe has competed in countless wrestling tournaments, JiuJitsu tournaments, and 3 MMA fights, amassing a 2 - 1 amateur MMA record at 145lbs, and holds the rank of Purple Belt in JiuJitsu. Coach Gabe is a talented athlete, but his real gifting comes in his coaching. Coach Gabe coaches wrestling at his alma mater STM, he is also our Lunch JiuJitsu Instructor and JiuJitsu 101 Instructor at Headkicks. He is active on the mats and in the gym, he coaches some of our Foundations Kickboxing classes and he is a certified Personal Trainer, doing 1 on 1 and small group personal training sessions to help clients meet their goals. Gabe is a hard round for anyone on the mats, but an amazing Coach and helper in the academy. He is our Head Referee at our large Submission Quest BJJ Tournaments we hold quarterly. You can find Gabe here at Headkicks in the early morning with clients, at lunch Coaching JiuJitsu, and also in evening 101 classes. Gabe is also the Ragin JiuJitsu Club President and helps students at UL Lafayette to get access to training and tournaments, further spreading the art he loves. The world is his oyster, be sure to catch up with Coach Gabe when you have the chance!

Coach Brandon started his training at a young age, with a couple years of karate. Returning to martial arts at 16 years old in high school, he went right to Muay Thai and advanced through the early ranks with speed. He started training with the fight team, and competed in many of our Rumble Night Kickboxing Tournaments. He fought at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette and showcased great Kickboxing skills in victory. also known as "Birdman" for his high flying and dynamic kicking style, Coach Brandon is a talented southpaw in a room full of great southpaws. He has been instrumental in fight camps for fall fighters but especially the likes of Carli Judice, Tyler Hill, and Aaron Phillips. Coach Brandon holds a Purple Rank in Muay Thai and Blue Belt in JiuJitsu, and we are waiting to see him get in the cage in MMA soon! Coach Brandon is also our Front Desk Specialist during the lunch hours. Coach Brandon loves teaching kids of all ages and has been teaching with us for 3 years, and advancing to our Senior Youth Instructor for all the Kids and Teens Classes. He especially loves to teach and coach the youth Elite Team, teaching them all about competitive techniques and strategies and mindset to help them win medals and trophies! Coach Brandon is a Swiss Army Knife of well rounded martial arts student, fighter, and coach. You can catch him at Headkicks all the time, but especially in the Lunch Muay Thai class, Muay Thai 201 classes, and 301 Sparring classes. Coach Kris is one of the newest and best additions at Headkicks. Kris brings decades of military experience before he ever started JiuJitsu. He found JiuJitsu later in life, only 4 years ago, and in that time he has immersed himself in the JiuJitsu world and community like no other. It's like he found his life long calling or a best friend in JiuJitsu. Surely he's make some of his best friend Through JiuJitsu. Coach Kris brings a unique and methodical approach to JiuJitsu that is perfect for newer students and advanced students alike. He loves the foundation techniques that are timeless and necessary for self defense, while being sparked by new and innovative leg locks and counter offense. Kris coaches both our Foundations JiuJitsu class, and our JiuJitsu 101 classes, known for his energetic and passionate teaching of JiuJitsu. Coach Kris also can be found coaching at Tournaments, Refereeing at Submission Quest, and teaching private lessons. Kris shows that through dedicated study and immersion into an art such as JiuJitsu, a whole new world can open up to you.
